Website copywriting and editing

Greg Harrand of York-based Hedley House started the year with a mission – to bring his website up to scratch and attract more visitors.

Mike Towers of Effective Words created a plan which would guide his work and meet Greg’s expectations. The plan included:

• Recommending changes to the running order of the website menu
• Cutting back on the home page text
• Editing the information about York and its history
• Highlighting the history of the Victorian building
• Emphasising the food and drink offer at Hedley House
• Raising the hotel’s profile in the business community

The new copy was ready two weeks later and the site has since been relaunched.
